It's funny how it often begins: The inability to find products that meet one's own personal needs. That is precisely how Divine Indulgence was born. Founder of Divine Indulgence, Cheryl Sheehan was "inspired to create" when she was unable to find unique contemporary products for dressing her own tables. Cheryl found inspiration in an unexpectedly traditional place the old-fashioned lace doily. "I grew up using doilies to soften, and protect tables. I used them on all wood table surfaces, under lamps, picture frames, and statuary. Dressers, night stands, and virtually all tables had a covering. The dilemma for me and others I talked to was what to do when you wanted to soften and enhance your tables but your home was contemporary?" Expanding and contemporizing the concept of using fabric to warm, soften, and decorate tables, Cheryl created luxurious textiles designed to enhance and complement not only tables, but chairs, couches, furniture, and fixtures. Soon she realized she was onto something a new way for people to express themselves and add amazing design touches to the surfaces in their homes.
Cheryl spent nearly 20 years in the Interior/Construction Business as an architectural rep. "I have always loved the design industry and was inspired to help find product solutions for my clients that would enhance and create an inspiring finished project, whether that was a custom dream home, a getaway beach cabin, or a high-profile commercial high-rise. The mingling of her professional experience with her own design instincts lead Cheryl to create products that present unlimited opportunities for dressing, enhancing, and providing the finishing touches for any room of a home. "I am naturally driven to create spaces in my own home and those of family and friends that feel special and invite people to hang out and luxuriate! Our designs are made to inspire lives. Our goal is to give people new and different ways of thinking about décor. We invite our retailers and customers to drape our products over chairs, tables, or something else altogether. More than anything, we want to provide inspiration for decorating and enhancing homes and living spaces in ways that make those who dwell in them love every nook and cranny!"
